Passport Photo - An ID App App Reviews

...but how do I set it up to print on lets say 4"x6" photo paper??? That size paper fits passport pictures very well... I dont wanna go buy letter size photo paper to print 2 passport pictures on each sheet.

This app works well and is easy to use. Everything you need is right there at your finger tips. Simple clean design is very nice too. Thumbs up!

This is an awesome app that does what its suppossed to do with no messing around. Very useful when you simply want to print a passport photo etc without having to mess around with it much.

Nice simple app! Works as advertised. However, the information about it should be more complete. Appears to read only .jpg and .png files. Thats OK but let the buyer know this up front. I have two suggestions for future features: 1. Provide image rotation so I dont have to go through another app to make that correction. 2. Provide drag & drop capability into the open application window so I dont have to navigate through menus to open the photo. To be fair, you can drag an image onto the app icon to open. Sometimes its just easier to drop the image onto the windows work space.

The app really needs some instructions. The process is not as intuitive as the designer seems to think.

does not have a format for the passport photo… waste of money

very simple to use. will save lots time and money. usually $10 for 2pcs of passport pic.

Positives: Allows good control of picture quality: brightness, contrast etc. Negatives: Is only good for square US passports pictures, not passports for Europe (I bought a competitor product that gave a choice between US and Europe/UK)

Passport Photo has an easy to use interface that fits the minimal style of other mac apps. This program is great for getting a passport photo sized just right and allows you to print. Just drag a photo into the program then zoom and rotate so everything fits!… couldnt be easier! I had one question about the product so I emailed the developer and he replied within a few minutes with help. Great app and great support.

This is a very primitive app, It has no options for saving the picture as jpeg, nor does it allow for size adjustment (the only available size is the US passport size).

NOT EASY TO USE WASTE OF 2 BUCKS PRINTING WONT WORK ON PHOTO PRINTER HP ONLY SAVES TO PDF THEN IT WONT PRINT CORRECTLY….. EITHER UPDATE OR PULL THIS APP!!!!! QUIT STEALING PEOPLES HARD EARNED $$$$

I used this application for an entire summer working for a consulate taking passport pictures on my dslr. This ap works wonders on my mac compared to the one my sister was using which cost her 20 dollars for windows. At 2 dollars, this thing is a steal and does the job well. I dony understand why so many people are complaining about its ease of use. I took over 200 photos without flaws. Dont blame it on the software. You get what you paid for.

I seldom write a review, however the excellent service I received from the developer of this app was incredible. I purchased the app and then a few days later there was an update. I installed the update but had difficulty viewing the tutorial. I contacted the site developer and immediately received his help. He could not have been nicer and helped me correct the difficulty I was having. By watching the tutorial I learned to operate the app and I could not be more pleased. I am a Mac guy. “BädenMX-5”…….Randy an old geezer in Arizona.

Developer’s video suggests you can alter the “Exposure” and “Saturation” to achieve a working US passport photo. However, unless your potential passport photo needs no change at all (which is why I purchased this app; I needed to make background color adjustments), this app is absolutely useless: it ONLY makes perfect potential passport photos “more perfect"! Why would I purchase an app if my photo was perfect already? Who has a picture in front of an all-white background already laying around their house? This app was a waste of my $4.99, and I would like a refund ASAP. One problem: no e-mail address listed for the developer. Case(s) in point. Please do not waste your hard-earned money as I did on this app, which was supposed to be a time-saver, but was quite the opposite. Extremely disappointed, and feel quite taken advantage of.

I paid $13 for a passport photo at Walgreens and hated it. I took my own photo at home against a white wall, got it cropped to the right size, but couldn’t really get a good print with the right color, contrast etc. I found this app, and watched the support video where he shows you step by step how to use the program. Everything worked just like the video showed. I was able to zoom in or out to get to the 2x2 in photo with my face within the grid in the required area, adjusted exposure, color saturation, contrast level and brightness. It has a rotation adjustment which I didn’t need. I had a little trouble choosing all the printer settings, but I went back and watched the video again and that guided me through choosing paper size, and choosing glossy paper. I don’t know how you could ask for anything to work better. If you are good at PhotoShop or some other image editing program, you might not need this, but if not this should work great for you. This picture I made came out much better picture quality than the one I got from Walgreens.

As always, I read the reviews prior to purchasing this app. Reviews mean a lot to me, and do affect what apps I purchase. I decided that I would purchase this app, and I am glad that I did. I watched the video first, and it was very helpful. The actual app worked just like it did in the video. It is easy to use, and works very well for this specific purpose. We were going to go to the pharmacy and have pictures made. We are so glad that we stayed at home and took pictures until we were satisfied. These were the pictures that we then used in this app. No being embarrassed at asking the pharmacy person to take ten pictures until you get the right one. This is an unspoken benefit of this app, you get to do it all at home, and all with the picture that you want. Once you have chosen your picture, this app does exactly what it should. I am glad that I chose this app, and it saved me money to do it.

It is useless. Like someone else mentioned, it’s only good if you have an already good photo of yourself.

The tutorial seems straightforward buy try as I might the dimensions and apect ratio of the final product kept changing. I spent so much time trying to get a 1.5 by 2 inch id photo out of this app that I gave up. In the EU you can get your money back if you find an app does not live up to the description, I wish we could do the same in the US.

I decided to take our own pictures so we could select the best one. It was that or pay AAA $8 a picture. I took my own picture against the white closet door. I my case where I took my own picture, I used my laptop computer to control my Canon Rebel. I could see the image before taking the picture. In the process, I learned the camera resolution should be about 1 to 3 megapixels. This makes the zoom resolution to set the hair to chin size at around .5. I used the rotation to correct for my leaning to press the touch pad to to take the picture. In the resulting pictures dragged into the program, the background was not quite white as required. I increased the brightness and and the contrast and saturation to get the desired results. I used the grid and outline to finnish the picture. The part I found most time consuming was getting the the height between top of the hair to the bottom of the chin within the 1. to 1.38 inch limits. After I took my wifes picture, the process went much faster. Second, I was able adjust the final flesh tones to my liking. Four stars because of the effort required to get the size right.
